Ice Road Trucker 2 Instructions

The control scheme of Ice Road Trucker 2 is anything BUT complicated and fancy. If you have played truck games like this before, you shouldn't have any issues with the basic movement controls. A top view driving / truck game, the game is played entirely with the keyboard's cursor / arrow keys: (1) press up to drive and hold it down to accelerate. (2) Hitting the down arrow key, on the other hand, is for slowing down and pulling back. And believe me, with the slippery and icy road you'd be driving on, you will use this button A LOT. (3) The left and right arrow keys, on the other hand, are for steering in either direction. (4) And last BUT not the least, you would need to sound the horn every now and then. To do just that, hit the space bar button. That's about everything you need to know as far as controls go. Let's have a closer look at the game...

Ice Road Trucker 2 Walkthrough

Back in 2006, the History Channel aired a 46-minute episode that was titled 'Ice Road Truckers' as part of the Dangerous Missions Series. This episode was based on the book by Edith Iglauer - Denison's Ice Road. This episode took a closer look at the perilous job of driving trucks over frozen lakes that were disguised as roads in Canada's North West territories. These paths are, deservedly, known as Ice Roads. The episode was very warmly accepted and garnered excellent ratings. In 2006, History Channel hired Thom Beers to create a series based on the Ice Road book. Shot in high definition, the series Ice Road Truckers charts 2 months in the lives of 6 fellas who haul essential supplies to diamond mines as well as other remote locations traveling through the dreaded ice roads.

The bad news is that the TV series is over. BUT the good news, however, is that the Ice Road Truckers are BACK! And this time around, you get to be in the shoes of these truckers as they face new hazards in crossing the frozen Arctic Ocean. The risk of the ice roads cracking, polar bears, etc. - these are just some of the dangers and risks you will encounter along the way with your tried, tested, and massive truck! You get to choose between 5 different Arctic routes and there's the much-needed Truck Shop that has everything you need to keep your ride in tip top condition. There are 4 things you always need to keep in mind when you are about to drive through the ice roads: (1) Always make sure your truck has enough fuel to make the trip. The last thing you want to happen is to run out of gas in the middle of the ice road. (2) Visit the shop to repair the damages your truck sustains. (3) Keep your finances in good shape. Nothing's free folks... not in this game. You need to fork out dough to get your truck repaired, buy upgrades, refill your fuel tank, etc. (4) Now hoarding dollars isn't a very good idea either. Money alone won't get you far. So my advice: visit the Truck Shop to upgrade your gigantic ride!

Crazy Paul's Truck Shop: When you visit the shop, there are a couple of things you need to take note of. On the left side of the screen, you will find how much cash you have in the bank. Right below that, you would find how much fuel you have left (measured in gallons). And finally, you will find how much damage your truck has sustained (measured in percentage). On the left bottom most part of the screen, you will see how much money you need to fork out to have your truck refueled to full tank as well as how much you need to pay for repairs. The upgrades section of the shop, on the other hand, offers different parts for your truck: (1) There's the engine that improves your top speed and acceleration. (2) There are the brakes for improving your stopping speed. (3) The tires, on the other hand, improve your traction. (4) Do you need to carry BIGGER and HEAVIER loads? No problem! You can always buy a trailer at the upgrade shop. And, by the way, being able to deliver heavier and bigger cargoes means more cash in your pocket.

Once you are done and bought everything you need at the shop, just go out there and deliver those goods. There's nothing much to be said about the game play. It's the usual 'drive all the way to the end of the track and avoid road hazards' affair. Of course, it is necessary to be fast and careful at the same time. Always keep an eye on the road and be quick at avoiding incoming traffic (rare) and other obstacles. Well, that's about everything you need to keep in mind. Enough talk, it's about time you deliver those goods!
